This VPK puppy is guaranteed for 2 years against all of the following disorders, conditions and diseases; no other warranties
are implied.

DM Degenerative Myelopathy is guaranteed for a period of 5 years.

In the case of a sudden death of the puppy a necropsy must be performed and VPK must receive a copy of the report before
a replacement puppy is issued.

Limitations
This is a replacement puppy guarantee. VPK does not offer a money back guarantee. VPK does not require the new owner
to return the original puppy because he/she has most definately become a part of your family & life and most owners
wouldn't think of it. VPK does not reimburse or otherwise issue repayment for veterinarian charges/bills incurred by the new
owner.

This guarantee in non-transferable, if ownership of the puppy/dog changes this contract is void.

If this puppy/dog is bred this contract is void.

Replacement will be of equal quality, limit of one.

No replacement will be issued for dogs under any circumstances who are overweight. Weight guidelines for 24 month old
females is 70-90lbs. Males is 80-95lbs.

Hip and Elbow reports must be performed by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). VPK will not replace a puppy
for hip/elbows without an OFA report.

The new owner must obtain a second opinion on all covered disorders, conditions, and diseases, requiring a replacement
puppy. The date & weight of the puppy must be recorded by the veterinarian on such reports.

VPK does NOT require you to return the dog in order to full-fill the guarantee, but he/she must be spayed/neutered at the new
owners expense. VPK must receive written notification of sterilization from the attending veterinarian, before a replacement
will be available.

Virginia's Pride Kennel is not responsible for and does not pay veterinarian fees, bills, and costs incurred by the owner.

Any and all costs for shipping and/or delivery of the replacement puppy are the sole responsibility of the owner. All charges
for shipping/delivery must be pre-paid.

There may be a 6-18 month wait before a replacement puppy is available.

The owner assumes full and sole responsibility  for the puppy itself and it's actions entirely from the date of purchase. The
Seller in no way assumes any responsibility or liability with respect to damages resulting from actions of the puppy.

This guarantee is under the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the county of Shenandoah. It is agreed the place
of venue shall be Shenandoah County, Virginia.

The owner understands fully and completely agrees to abide by the guidelines set forth in this Guarantee & Agreement. If the
agreement in full or part is not kept by the new owner this contract is void.

The Seller of the dog is referred to as VPK, the Purchaser is referred to as the owner.

Before you dog goes home with you…



When you take your dog home you’ll receive…

A health record for your puppy detailing vaccinations, wormings, and weight. The health record will also indicate when the
dog is due for its next vaccinations.. Also included with the purchase is a sample of food, chew toys, collar, treats and a
travel kennel.

What you are responsible for and required to do…

1. Provide a good environment for your puppy/dog: Meaning that he/she will receive at minimum two meals daily, is given
regular mental & physical stimulation, is given veterinary care when required, adequate exercise, and shelter from weather,
additionally that he/she dog will not be mistreated or abused in any way.

2. Take the puppy/dog to a licensed veterinarian of your choice within 48hrs. of purchase for a general health exam.
Maintain the health of the dog throughout it’s life, keeping him up to date on DHLPP and Rabies boosters & free of in/external
parasites and seeking veterinary care when necessary.

3. Feed a quality food.

4. Socialize the puppy/dog: This is of the utmost importance in raising a GSD. Take the dog along with you in public
frequently (encouraging all good behaviors and correcting negative ones) throughout puppy hood, ensuring that he/she
doesn't see the world outside the home as a threat.

5. Obedience train the dog, either at home or in a class setting: Teaching the dog at a minimum sit, down, and how to walk
on the leash.

6. Discipline the dog: Teaching the dog not to jump on people, up on counters, biting is for chew toys and chasing is for balls.
This may require a collar correction and redirection to an appropriate behavior.

7. Provide photographs: Send 3 photos of the dog (head front, sitting front & standing side) at 6 months, 12 months, and 24
months old either by email or US Mail. Any photographs may be used for advertisement purposes an may be viewed by
the general public.


8. Notify Us: If you wish to sell or otherwise place your dog in a new home.

9. Have your puppy spayed or neutered. Females should be spayed by the age of 6 months to avoid the first heat cycle.
Males should be neutered around 10-12 months old.

10. Never tether, chain or otherwise tie up the dog unsupervised. It can be very dangerous  for a dog to be kept on a chain
or tie out regularly.

11. Take care not to excessively exercise the puppy. Walks should be limited to under a 1/2 mile, no jumping in & out of
truck beds, no cart/sled pulling, no jogging or running, no agility work requiring climbing & jumping until the dog is 12 months
old.
