Raising an 8 week old puppy just isn't for everyone. For those of you who know this IS
the breed for you, but just don't have the amount of time it requires to raise a little one,
an adult German Shepherd could be the answer. Trying to raise a young puppy without
having enough time tp spend with them can make the process very difficult. All of that
"puppy energy" needs a good outlet. With the puppy developing quickly and needing
regular stimulation to mature into a sound adult; if you aren't there to provide this, they
will learn to entertain themselves. This can
lead to excessive barking, digging, or a
host of other problems. At that point you
are sure to feel like you're always just
catching up with your puppy, instead of
staying two steps ahead him/her.
Raising a German Shepherd Dog is a
commitment and if your family isn't able
to devote that amount of time to a young
puppy, it's possible that an older puppy or
an adult German Shepherd may work out best. It could be that given the choice you'd
prefer to skip those puppy stages of teething and mouthing, waking in the middle of the
night, teaching house manners, basic obedience, socializing etc. There are many
motivations for purchasing an adult German Shepherd Dog versus an eight week old
puppy. Whatever yours may be,
the good news is that we have adult German
Shepherds for sale to great homes
from time to time. And most of our older German
Shepherd Puppies and adult German Shepherd Dogs have already had foundational
training. They are usually housebroken, crate trained, have very good indoor manners,
socialized well with children and other dogs, have basic obedience down pat and travel
nicely. If you are interested in an older German Shepherd puppy or an adult German
Shepherd Dog, feel free to contact us to see if we have what you're looing for.
